This cave is located on the road to Croix Perrin, in an old rock excavation, with its entrance overlooking the Lans plains. The cave is relatively vertical, starting with a 6-metre climb and an exposed abseil into a stunning 30-metre-deep chamber.
From there, it is possible to reach the suspended chamber via climbing passages and a 20-metre abseil down to the end of the meander at its base. The climb back up is straightforward, through a 15-metre-high chamber that leads to the base of the initial 6-metre climb.
To reach the suspended chamber, allow a full day for the outing. Otherwise, the route can be enjoyed by families or groups of friends in a half-day. The Eymards site is a great introduction to vertical caving, suitable for anyone in good physical condition.
