Rock climbing in Lans en Vercors

These crags, directly by the village of Lans offer everything you need for rock climbing: multiple orientations, many different kind of routes in every level from beginner to expert!

We use these possibilities to adapt the experience to the participants’ level and support them as they progress.

Young children from 6 to 8 years old. Their introduction to vertical terrain takes place on the multi-pitch route “Les Petits Piliers” an ideal itinerary for discovering rock climbing in a relaxed way, with very few technical constraints. Then, depending on each participant’s abilities, we’ll learn how to descend a rock face by abseiling or on top rope.

Children from 8 to 12 years old We’ll move on to a slightly more challenging route and learn how to “read” the rock in order to identify holds and the line, as well as how to belay the party during the ascent. The session will conclude with an independent abseil, backed up by a safety belay.

Teenagers and beginners (adults) They’ll learn to climb on top rope (taking turns on the belay) on suitable routes, then work on their technique to develop solid climbing skills and improve. A long abseil is definitely planned in the session!

Advanced course Everything is possible depending on the participants’ level: learning to lead, working on specific climbing movements, or tackling a multi-pitch route with lead swapping, belaying the second, and descending by abseil with an assisted backup. And the list goes on!
